What is the difference between Full HD and HD Ready?

​A TV labeled HD-Ready can receive HDTV signal with maximum resolution 1280x720 pixels. 
Full HD can receive HDTV signal with maximum resolution 1920x1080 pixels, ie. has higher resolution than HD-Ready. 

The difference between the full-HD content and HD-ready material is great, but on the other hand, the offer of the former in the current situation is relatively limited.


HDTV is a format supporting resolutions of 1080p, 1080i or 720p. 
If a product is labeled HD Ready means that it can receive receive and display HDTV, according to the European standards and have a minimum resolution of 720 lines / points.
